Halloween Party!
Ianto finished setting up the last of the pumpkins along the spa's wide front porch. Q had gladly agreed to provide some decorations for the party, and, in Ianto's opinion, had really outdone himself. They were fantastic.

He went back inside, checking his costume one last time in the mirror. The khaki trousers and blue work shirt and red braces, even the heavy work-boots, he'd had no trouble in finding, but he'd had to borrow Jack's coat. WWII greatcoats just weren't easy to find these days. He'd had to pin it a bit to make it fit his more slender frame, but he was pleased with the results. The hair, well, not much he could do about that; it was too short. He'd made an effort to brush it the way Jack did, though.

He walked through to the kitchen to check on the refreshments. There were bowls of crisps and pretzels and candy. He'd made a fresh pot of coffee, in case anyone wanted some, and there were two bowls of punch, one alcoholic and one not, and a soda and beer on a cooler of ice by the door leading outside. He didn't know how cold it would be, so wanted to leave the option for people to stay inside or go out onto the grounds.

He and Jack had taken care to wear the pups out, giving them more practice walking around the grounds with their leashes, and then relocated them, bed, blankets, waterbowl and all, to the largest of the bathrooms, keeping the door firmly shut.

Everything seemed to be in good order, so he went back out to the porch, waiting for the guests to arrive.

Jack was quite impressed himself with the pumpkins Q had provided, whistling his appreciation of them. And collecting the pumpkin insides up, because hey, they were still useful; he wasn't a great chef by any means, but he could cook some basic things, so the pumpkin seeds got a good toasting for snacking on and the mashed pumpkin got baked into pies and cookies.

It felt very different to wear a suit-- and he couldn't borrow any of Ianto's since they were tailored too slim for his build. Still, he didn't think Ianto would complain that he now owned a suit for himself. Dark with subtle pinstripes, like Ianto tended to wear, with a waistcoat cut from the same cloth to match it, matching tie, and a dark blue dress shirt. He borrowed Ianto's stopwatch to tuck into the pocket of the waistcoat. His hair had to be combed back from his face, trying to minimize the volume of it to look shorter like Ianto's, but it was tricky.

The fake sideburns he applied looked slightly ridiculous, though really, Halloween.

He flashed his usual cheeky grin at Ianto, then mellowed it out into a more neutral expression. He held out the coat to help Ianto into it, not as practiced with it as the real Ianto, of course. "How do I look, sir?"

	He holds out his arms and lets Jack help him into the coat, still a bit surprised at how heavy it feels while wearing it, even though he's lifted it countless times to help Jack into it. 	He leans into the touch and reaches out to stroke a hand along Ianto's neck. He tries to get into Ianto's accent-- really, around various Welsh accents long enough, should have an ear for them by now-- and attempts a deadpan, "I didn't want to shave my legs for a skirt."
